Jenny

Born in South Korea, Jenny credits her Korean-American upbringing and her
father's time in the Army for introducing other cultures, languages, music,
and foods to her at an early age. Her love of dance and music propelled her
to explore and pursue training in multiple movement disciplines, including
hip-hop, jazz, MENAHT dances, martial arts, and boxing.

Throughout Jenny's years of training, teaching, and performing, she began
experimenting with combining elements from her studied disciplines to create
fusion blended performances. Although often identified as a fusion dance
artist, she deeply believes it's necessary to know and understand the art
forms you are fusing and the intended audience. She incorporates this
philosophy and the importance of respecting the origins and cultures of
these dances for those experimenting with Transcultural movement into her
teaching.

Co-Founder of World Belly Dance Alliance, Jenny devoted years to hosting
events and collaborating with other local artists to produce shows and
workshops to foster community and knowledge sharing.

A former member of the world-renowned dance company, Bal Anat, directed by
Suhaila Salimpour, Jenny continues her training with the Salimpour School of
Dance.
